What is GoogleDex? GoogleDex is the score given to a term based on the number of pages that Google has indexed and posted as results for that term. See Anvil Media’s GoogleDex. Anvil has 1,210,000 pages that have been indexed for its name, thus its GoogleDex is 1,210,000.
But who cares about GoogleDex or measuring the number of results? You should care. This number is important to monitor when you launch a new product or even change your company name. When our client, Marqui, changed its name back in November of 2004, we started tracking their GoogleDex from day one. They started out with a GoogleDex of 2,048 and now have a score of 448,000. They have dramatically increased their GoogleDex by aggressive PR efforts and blogging.
